What is Watermark for Kids? Watermark for Kids is a non-profit organization committed to empowering underserved kids to thrive and to impact the lives of other children. Through Watermark for Kids, young people are encouraged to express their character, leadership, creativity, compassion and spirit.

Kids submit applications describing their vision and Watermark for Kids provides the financial support to bring as many of these visions to reality as possible.

Watermark for Kids is built on three fundamental principles.  First, all children have an innate greatness and deserve the opportunity to shine.  Second, children are our future leaders and true leadership starts with serving others.  Finally, the power of the human spirit can change the world.

What makes a Watermark Kid?  Watermark Kids are committed to expressing themselves and making a difference in the world. They range in age from 6 to 22, and are of every shape, size and color.  They are full of heart, compassion, vision and spirit.

How do I become a Watermark Kid? Kids who are underserved are encouraged to apply for project funding to express their creativity, vision, spirit, etc.  Youth who would not be considered underserved are encouraged to submit projects which help other kids, thereby expressing their leadership or compassion.
To apply for funding you need an adult Coach who is a Watermark associate, resident or family member of a Watermark associate or resident.  Coaches are committed to the success of Watermark Kids.  To be paired with a Coach, please email jill@watermarkforkids.org or call 520-797-4000.

The final step is to submit an application to Watermark for Kids. Applications are reviewed every 30 days and your Coach or Watermark for Kids Community Liaison at your local Watermark community will be notified of the outcome.

How do I apply? Complete the application and fax, mail or submit it online.

What is the role of a Coach for a Watermark Kid?   Coaches are Watermark associates, residents or family members of a Watermark associate or resident. Their job is to ensure that the Watermark Kid has a positive learning experience and to protect the vision and integrity of Watermark for Kids.  It is required that resources benefit underserved kids and that Watermark Kids develop and grow during the process. All Coaches are encouraged to complete a brief online training which is available on the Coach page of this website.

How are Watermark for Kids projects funded?  These projects are accomplished through the generosity of like minded businesses and individuals. Watermark associates give generously through voluntary payroll deductions and contribute through community fundraisers and special events.  Inspiring Watermark residents are incredibly motivated to give back to youth in their communities and to provide a valuable inter-generational experience whenever possible.

How are beneficiaries determined? Awards are based on the ability to make a meaningful impact on the life of the recipient. Our commitment is to enable kids to thrive and recipients are selected accordingly.

Does Watermark for Kids donate to other nonprofit organizations?  Watermark for Kids does not seek to donate to other organizations, but to provide a personal experience for individual kids.

How can I help? Donate! Donate your time, services, or funds. Because our administrative costs are underwritten by corporate donations from Watermark Retirement Communities, you can rest assured that 100% of your donation will directly benefit Watermark Kids.
